The world feels colder on this day,
a world in which 6 angels no longer play,
Today the sun shines but the world seems darker,
for an unimaginable grief has been created for us to conquer.
Sense cannot be found in the midst of tragedy,
Many search for meaning and others lay blame – yet all hearts lose their sense of gravity.
Life did not stop for those left behind,
Yet, their time is lost pleading for a moment to stop and rewind.
The world mourns the light that it can no longer see;
After the loss of 6 angels – pray their souls be free.
On the 16th of December 2021 an unimaginable loss took place at Hillcrest Primary School in Devonport, Tasmania. May the families of the children find strength in their darkness and the hearts broken by this tragedy find healing.
Grief shows up in many forms and none of them are wrong – each individual processes grief differently. Be kind, be thoughtful and be considerate.
My heart and thoughts are with the families, friends, the Hillcrest community.
